The dressmaking process
From first conversation to final fitting, here is how a custom Oy Couture garment comes together.

Initial consultation
Once you reach out, our team will schedule a consultation to discuss your design ideas, budget, and timeline.

Design development
We work together to finalise your design, then collect or select fabrics, colours, and customisation options.

Measurements
We take your measurements in studio, or work from the measurement form you send us, to build your pattern.

Order confirmation
Once you have approved the design, we confirm your order and provide a production timeline. A deposit of 50% secures your place.

Production
Our skilled team sews your garment by hand and machine, with close attention to every detail.

Fittings
We schedule a fitting to ensure a flawless result. Any adjustments are made and your garment is finished with precision. We strongly recommend this step.

Delivery
You collect your finished garment or we deliver it, ready for your occasion. The remaining balance is due at this point.

Bridals: The Process
- The bespoke process for Brides begin with a consultation with us to discuss style ideas, inspiration, budget and the bride’s desires for the dress.
- This consultation can be held physically in our Brampton location or virtually for clients abroad. The client is then invoiced, measured and receives a sketch that directs the production of the dress (International client receive a detailed guide to help take their measurements accurately).
- The ideal order-processing timeframe for bridal dresses is six (6) months from the consultation date.
- You are allowed to invite a maximum of five loved ones for your consultation.
- You may make a request for an express order and we will discuss the possibilities.
Graduation & Prom Dress Alterations
Prom dress alterations are essential to ensure your dress fits like it was custom-made just for you. Whether it’s shortening the hem, adjusting the bodice, or refining the straps, each alteration enhances the dress’s look, comfort, and elegance.
The prom dress alterations cost varies based on the dress’s design and complexity. For simpler dresses, alterations typically take a week , while more intricate prom dresses with layers, embellishments, or detailed construction may take more time.
These adjustments go beyond appearance alone a well-fitted prom dress allows for free movement, giving you the confidence to dance and enjoy prom or graduation night without concerns about discomfort or wardrobe issues.
